poem about crisis and depression but its not really serious
Critical Mass

Twilight, Half-light, Half-life.
I though I’d hear a bomb drop.
But I could have heard a pin.
The shot rang out.
And it’s still ringing in hollow ears.
Carry water, chop wood;
Pretend you’re nice;
Pretend you’re good.
Pretend to care;
Pretend to smile.
Moan and die,
All the while.
Carry water, chop wood;
Pretend you’re smart;
Pretend you’re good.
Pretend you try hard in school;
Pretend you don’t feel like a fool.
Try to give your aches a name;
Angst or hatred,
It’s all the same.
Cry all night,
Sleep all day.
You can’t give this pain away.
Chop water, carry wood;
Pretend you’re nice;
Pretend you’re good.
The shot rang out,
And it’s still ringing in my ears.
Half-life, Half-light, Twilight.
I could have heard a pin.
