A love and relationship gone wrong.
Intolerable

Shattered are these dreams
That I once relied on to pull me through.
Now lying scattered across the hard wood floors
Are the fragments of hope that kept us strong.
Mangled beyond all repair
Is how you have left my heart and our home.

Anger, your one pure emotion, shown
By the usage of harsh names and unjustified accusations.
Your words like blades thrown in my general direction,
Slicing easily through the walls I have built up,
Not caring if fatal injury occurred.
Verbal abuse has always been your weapon of choice,
Used in every upsetting situation of your daily life.

How can you treat me so brutally?
Maybe it was the alcohol you consumed
That has caused these bitter backlashes.
Maybe it’s emotion you have been hiding,
Not wanting to draw attention to your insecurities.

Whatever the reason or cause
This love affair can’t continue.
You are endangering everything we have.
I’d simply be a fool to see this as tolerable.
I am no longer naïve and blind to the harsh world.
So take your hateful arguments and swallow them.
I have nothing more to say to you.
