Blind adoration
Fingers splayed
Like the dying rays of summer
Washing over us
Like distance

You lean in
Soft consonants
and vowels
Bleeding together
As one

You hold me lightly
Like a stranger
I hold you tightly
Like a song

With all these people standing by
(Spectators to our spectacle)
I wanted to strip you down
To your very marrow
Questing for the
Knowledge and passion
That surely must be
Mixed inside

Instead I just smiled
Captivated by you
(But caged by me)
And filled the spaces
Between your fingers
With my own.
