Sitting in a truckstop, waiting to pick up a load, I looked around and had a thought..
We Are Truck Drivers

Roll in with a low rumble,
cause the earth to tremble,
eyes focus out the windshields,
to see which the passer-by resembles.

We gather at the truckstops,
a wonderment for the eyes,
To watch drivers handle their "rigs",
it takes skill, due to their size.

The driver, as different as the truck driven,
the rookie, experienced, co-driver or lead,
living their lives on the road in a truck,
"Proud to Roll On America's Highways"- just one creed.

Miles add up, while rolling day and night,
sleep seems minimal at best some days,
home time is always looked forward to,
especially when longer than the "run-through" stays.

Truck drivers are a very diverse group,
a fact undebated by those that know of us,
priority driven to deliver a service,
A "CDL holder" may even drive a bus.

Seeing the road from different perspective,
not one full of glory and stardust,
It's a "Lifestyle" of "Git-R-Done"...
while in each other, and "God We Trust".
