Men and sport. Are they inseperable?
LIFE’S A BALL

On the day that I got married we really had a ball,
But just how much my life would change I had no idea at all.
Now I've come to the conclusion after all these wedded years
That my life's been dominated by many different spheres.

I knew my man loved football though I still thought him a catch,
And I've tried hard not to grumble when he watches every match.
In those days he was young and fit and liked to play much sport
So most of his spare was spent hitting squash balls round a court.

After a while our son was born, we agreed to name him Paul
And now he's older he's become addicted to the ball.
So in winter they're at 'Forest' where they have a season ticket,
In summer life gets hectic when they both start playing cricket.

On Saturdays it's tennis and also when they're able
They go to watch their favourites around the snooker table.
Now, if I want some attention I just curl up in a ball.
It’s the only way they notice that I'm around at all.

And as the years go rolling by I'm getting quite hysterical
I feel this ever-growing need to escape from all things spherical.
So could someone out there help me before I'm quite demented,
To find a planet to live on where the ball’s not been invented?
