12-sentence short story for my english class about a girl being chased through an alley.
Her pace quickened as she darted through the darkness, perspiration running down her face as she spun to the right and narrowly missed a trash can. She had to get out of there before it was too late, before the owner of the steady footsteps behind her caught up with her and did god only knows what to her. Suddenly, however, she lost her footing as she spun again, trying to avoid yet another hazard in the alley, and consequently she fell to the ground, twisting her ankle in the process.
"Oh man," she muttered as she tried to stand up, only to fall back down once more.
Behind her she realized the footsteps had come to a stop, and she slowly raised her head to see a towering dark figure standing above her, a sinister look in his eyes.
"Well, well, well," he clucked, "Aren't you a quick one."
The girl backed up closer to the wall, her heart pounding like crazy as one of her hands slowly searched the ground beside her, trying to find some sort of weapon. Unfortunately for her, the figure noticed the movement and swiftly made to put a stop to it, his hands reaching out and gripping her arms, hugging them tightly to her sides. Her eyes widened in alarm as the stranger slammed her against the brick-layered wall; it was at that moment that she finally realized the truth. She was a goner.
The shadowy figure laughed hollowly as he pushed her hair away from her neck and slowly lowered his lips to it, fangs now visible in the moonlight above, as a voice from behind him said, "What's taking you so long, Mahoney?"
Mahoney ignored the voice and tore into her neck, draining the life out of her; what a shame she never even screamed.
