The prologue to my book.

Prologue

Snuggly set, in the bottom of a small valley, surrounded by mountains that are covered with vast, dense forests, is a small village called Lincolnshire. It’s in an open area partially covered by fields and meadows of long flowing green grasses. There are small log houses, big enough only for a family of four or five people. Some have billowing curtains, while others have wooden shutters. Small dirt paths, lined with flowers or smooth river rocks, lead to the front doors. There are community fields where they grow their fruits and vegetables. They also have large pastures filled with hey and alfalfa in which to let their live-stock feed.
There is set aside one corner of the village a small home. The bricks that built this home are a dark gray color like that of looming storm clouds. It has dark brown, layered, wood shingles that make up the roof. The villagers know this home only as where matriarch Natane and the orphan boy Seth live. But soon, everyone would know more than they ever wanted.
