Once upon a time there was a little girl...
Written on July 20, 2002 at the age of fourteen.

Once upon a time
There was a little girl
Who's mind was so tormented
By things she'd seen and heard.

Her cousins liked to touch her
And fill her soul with hurt
They never gave a second thought
To treating her like dirt.

She loved to play games
Especially hide and seek
But then they always found her
And called her small and weak.

The pain went on for years
Until she got the nerve
To raise her chin and stand up straight
And call them all sick perves.

Of course she only did this
Deep inside her mind
But still she felt much better
To put it all behind.

Now the girl's a teen
Who vents her thoughts through writing
But in her mind she's still the girl
Who was no good at hiding.
