Dancing Feet

A white moon shines on a blue march night
Waves carry softly through silent twilight.
Barefoot in the garden with a lit cigarette,
Breathing smoke into cool air, as I sit and forget.
Damp grass cools tired dancing feet
The awakening earth lies silent beneath.
A week falls from the mind
Like clothes from bruised limbs
Life is a sad song, it’s too quiet to sing.
Days of disjointed desperate mess
Fall silent here as the wind breathes and forgets.
