a poem about a girl waiting on a guy
On the outside we are different, in our hearts we are the same.
Me with my hand-me-downs, you with all your fame
I know that you love me; I can see it in your eyes.
I tell you nothing but the truth, yet still you tell me lies.
I want you to want me, like you do those other girls.
I want to know what it’s like, to be the one wearing pearls.
You tell me to be patient; our time will soon be here.
I’ll just have to wait, yet another year.
