Written for my loving, beautiful, caring, and surprisingly forgiving wife.
My stomach is still knotting.
My heart is all a flutter.
My mouth is becoming dry.
My words are now all stuttered.

My eyes, they are wide open.
You think its so I can stare.
But I really see nothing.
And of this I have no care.

A passion sweeps over me
As I see your loving eyes.
A calm, quiet, gentle beauty
That breaks off my spirit’s ties.

Come now. Give me a smile,
One befitting of your soul.
I look for it every day,
For it gives me joy untold.

All the sweet words in the world
Could never express my love.
But know, every chance I get,
I thank the heavens above.

A gift like you is not given
To everyone. This I see.
For my life, I cannot tell
Why the fates chose to bless me
