Love that should not be, cannot be, yet cannot be denied.
I met you…
And I knew, so early on, that it was right
But I also knew that it could never be.
So I sat at the edge
And I dipped in my toes
Thinking to myself how careful I would be

Yet slowly, but surely
You drew me in

Now here I am
Treading water, for a time
I could swim to the edge and pull myself out… I think.
But for now, here I stay
Looking for the end, not knowing what it will be
Fearing the time when the energy is gone

And slowly, but surely
You draw me under
