This poem is about the contrast of feelings before and after accepting salvation.
New Sight

Pain and sadness once surrounded
weary days and restless nights.
I had no hope or joy to comfort,
and no escape, no end in sight.

In desperation I declared,
Oh Lord, please save my weary soul.
Then Christ restored me then and there
His glorious light had filled my soul.

From that day on I knew his love
As it embraced me day and night
I praise his name, and Lord I pray
I'll always treasure my new sight.
