memories of love lost
Moon-Burned

Reclined in my lounge chair
As cool night set in
My last smoke mingled with breeze,
Trailed up and roped the stars.
I thought I was lost
But you found me there dear,
As in every whimsied moment
So soon should be forgotten.
This time it was soft wind
On my neck- of mellow mood
And fingers grazing satin strands,
Tracing curves and bending seconds into hours.
Those moments nestled in between
Mornings patient graces
And your perfect cup of coffee.
I treasure you dear,
Night after night
As crescent moons sprinkle
Glitter on dewy grass
I'm staring into your magical
Smiling eyes.
