Thoughts and feelings on finding your soulmate but the timing was off.
Pages of words were filled
From one evening in the rain.
Hardly a glance passed between us,
Only a few words were spoken.
Yet on that magical night
You touched my heart as none had
In many days before.

And now, in time gone by,
You haunt my dreams, my thoughts.
Miles separate us, as does life.
The words are written to grasp
What meaning lies in your ghost.
Your presence in my soul,
Upon the pages on which I write.

As the days and months and years pass by
I'll look upon these words, and smile
At the foolishness of love unrequited,
Of want and need and lonliness,
And smile for the brief moments
Of happiness, of an evening in the rain.
