How do you find yourself when you've lived through others for so long?
There's something creeping along
Hesitantly at the back of my mind.
In between the distorting images
And blurring thoughts;
Where the panoramic view of life
Pans back and forth so rapidly.
Help me unravel the overlapping
Of emotions and time,
The conflictions of love and freedom,
The essence that has escaped me.
If I could find a morsel of that
Something, as it's lurking in the
Future of my immediate past;
If I could grasp it and take hold,
Maybe then could I understand.
And how great it would be to
Understand a part of me so undefined.

There's a reality in that something,
A love, a vision, and hope so pure.
There's a part in there that really is me,
Not the daydreams or poems I live through.
Can one find something so lost,
After devoting a life of nothing to
A lifetime of something;
A something that made me so hollow?
Will you help me reach back
To a memory of such beautiful innocence-
Where that something wasn't hiding
Or remaining brokenly unknown?

There's something creeping along
Stubbornly at the back of my mind.
In between the now focusing images
And defining thoughts;
Where the panoramic view of life
Pans back and forth at a sense of ease.
I see words and faces with a clearer eye,
With more comfort and understanding.
There's a something evolving and taking
Control of the places it hid before.
And I'm thinking it's time for
A transformation like this,
So when it's completed I can proudly ask,
"Now may I introduce you to me?"
