In honor of my mom, and my Lord who blessed me with her.
{c}The Pillar

Quiet, serene, immovable-
You stand in the center of it all.
We lean upon your strength.
You prevent the fall.

Built to last, sturdy, enduring-
The Creator left His mark
etched deeply in your surface.
You are His light when it is dark.

All flock to you
for your unceasing support.
When all the rest of us
Would have fallen short.

The tempests came and went,
beating down on you.
But you held fast
when the strong winds blew.

The storms ate away at you.
You often looked so weary,
but you never crumbled down,
even when things seemed dreary.

You knew you must be strong
for us to lean upon.
If you had not endured,
we would all be gone-

Blown away by the winds,
smashed by the waves.
But the Creator gave you strength
through the Mighty One who saves.

Come wind, come water-
We shall withstand
for He has given us you
by His gracious hand.

Quiet, serene, immovable-
You stand in the center of us all.
Holding our family together,
you prevent our fall.
