When Music and Light collide
She had been here a number of times before. It was a place her heart ached for. Not one specific thing attracted her to this building or to these people. She just knew deep down inside that she was supposed to be here. And she was never disappointed. The amount of reassurance and peace she left with helped her through another week on her journey.

Today she was restless. She wasn’t sure if it was because she had worked late and had only gotten a few hours’ sleep or what, but something kept tugging at her heart. The man approached the front of the building and was speaking. She listened obediently but the sunlight streaming through the window caught her attention. It danced in the air before falling gently onto her arm. The warmth was comforting. She tried to slide over just enough to get more of her self under the rays.

Everyone stood. She felt suddenly so at peace. She sang. Songs of love and adoration filled the sanctuary. The sunshine danced in through the windows and played with the notes of the songs. Such vibrant colors filled the air. She wondered if this is what heaven would be like. Would she sing with the Heavenly Hosts in a rainbow of songs?

She continued to play with the sunshine until something she heard distracted her. The man that was speaking was talking about declarations of love. She listened more intently now. “Please, come forward now.” He said. He was speaking only to her. But how could that be? There were others still in the room that heard and obeyed, but he still spoke only to her. She stood to go forward. The rays of sunshine carried her to the front of the sanctuary. They teasingly danced around her, warming the peace in her heart.

She stood before the man. He was asking her questions. Yes! She loved HIM. Yes! She would obey HIM. Yes! She would give her life over to HIM. She closed her eyes and held her breath. She felt herself go down into the abyss. The darkness enveloped her. The water was cold. So very cold. She felt it cover her face. She felt time stop for just an instant and something leave her soul. She could see the sunlight playing with the top of the water. She felt herself coming closer and closer to the sunshine. She was standing again in the sunshine. She felt like she was breathing for the first time. Such an overwhelming joy filled her heart!

She went into the little back room, still dripping wet and cold. She instantly fell to her knees. She had to ask for forgiveness and for strength. She was so sorry for the things that she had done that had caused HIM such pain. Please help her become the person that YOU want her to be. She had to tell HIM how much love she had for HIM. She had to tell HIM how thankful she was for what HE had done just for her. HE had died just for her. And then HE had come looking just for her. HE had knocked, just so she wouldn’t stay lost. A single tear fell down her cheek. What adoration she felt! Great sobs shook her body. She tried to stop but she couldn’t. She felt an arm surround her, trying to comfort her. But these were not tears of pain. These were not tears of sadness. These were not tears of sorrow. She had finally found her way home and the heavens were rejoicing with her. 03/09/06
