I wrote this poem just out of boredom.
Calm down you start to say, your shirt just soaking wet,
You try to dry her tears though the flow is steadily kept.
His piercing words went through her, like nothing she lets them slide,
He's destroyed her inner self, she's lost her sense of pride.
Marks left here and there by the man that she still loves,
The prize of her choice was a mistake as it is with every thug.
What could she do in such a mess? She's as lost as she could be,
But, I guess, the marks and bruises wasn't enough to make her see,
For, again she takes his hand at the promise of him changing,
As she leaves I turn my head cause this sight is too embarrassing.
She's captivated in his world... dazed in a swarm of lies,
Too weakened by his words to turn around and say goodbye.
She's the past the point of no return; to lust and heat and passion,
To a relationship worth nourishing replaced with the horror of what had happened.
A wisp of her still left but not enough to keep her going,
A broken heart, a battered soul and still he keeps destroying.
A stupid women I start to say as together I watch them leave,
I just hope the next time she's hurt she doesn't come running back to me.
