Thoughts and feelings of working nights and seeing no one
Creeping around in the bleak silent night
Trying not to awaken or fright
One wrong step could spell anarchy
And bring the plan down on one knee

As the midnight hour nears
Sleep is on the mind of his peers
The only companion a crankily radio
Providing the energy to maintain the go

Dawn break appears like a bolt from the blue
Startling and amazing; ready to start a new
The busy minions alive through the day
Will never hear what he has to say
