It is about a boy and father camping experience that sends them away...
My pa and I planned out a trip,
We traveled broad and wide.
We took a neighbors old RV,
Its beat up on one side…
We drove for miles, we lunched at one,
And then were on our way,
We stopped under the setting sun,
And pitched a tent that day…
We’re simple folk, we need not much,
But things were goin’ rough,
We broke the tent,
And then a bunch of other needed stuff.

When morning came we then began,
To cook the breakfast food,
We cooked some fish and then got on,
To gatherin’ more wood.
I stepped onto a red ants’ nest,
And what a trip to land!
I spent four hours rubbin’,
The ointment with my hands.
My pa came back with spider bites,
He said the lake’s not far,
We took a cozy blanket,
We took my small guitar,
As we approached the shore that day,
The water rose so high…
We got to bein’ stranded,
I thought we’re gonna die!
When finally the tide went down,
We rushed to our RV,
Only to find the tires slashed by a bear you see!
We called the car-wreck hotline,
And packed our things up tight,
We drove home in a tow-truck,
That cold and rainy night…

Old western luck not with us,
The weather was so vile,
I guess my pa and me,
Won’t get to camping for a while…
