My journey of grief.
Dedicated to my mother whose tears, mingled with mine, watered the ground from which this poem grew.

Without warning,
The thunderclouds rolled in.
My world turned dark,
And my tears flowed in torrents.
She is gone.

Time passed.
Unbroken clouds cover the sun.
My world is grey,
And my tears flow in a gentle stream.
I miss her.

One day,
Shafts of sunlight will appear,
Peeking through the clouds.
Through my tears I will see a rainbow.
God’s promise.

Till that day,
When the clouds are gone forever.
And, from the Son, eternal light will shine.
Then God will wipe away my tears.
Together again –

My sister and I.

IN LOVING MEMORY OF MY SISTER, JENNY, AUGUST 14, 1960 - JULY 18, 2004.
