Accepting a past love has gone to make room for loving someone new
Walk a path. Step by step carve it out so that it should be smooth and we won't stumble along the way. Your way. Struggling in my dreams since things just got so easy. Why must this throw me. Secure in what is felt in every moment with you, but then the past knocks on my front door. Go away. But don't go too far. I know it's not fair, but I don't know how to make it right. How can he like someone that you could never love? Good enough for him, but you will always see through me. Cut me out and then be angry when he'll take whats left. You knew nothing of the girl that loved you. Nothing of the girl that still felt your kiss when she was so close to gone. You know nothing of the woman that has had to move on. You made her, now hate her. Forget her. Too hard? I know. The anger you try to feel towards me is really the anger you feel towards yourself. You let me go so long ago and thought I would stand still. Hard to see that the world still turns without you shining your light on me isn't it? Tried to use me and make me hurt, but just caused yourself more pain. With each time this happens I find that I'm a little stronger. I move on a little faster. Sad that this has become so common. Just a part of our routine. Only I've changed it up this time. You thought it was you who got to walk away AGAIN, but I flipped it and showed you how easy it was for me to hang up the phone. I won't appologize for telling you the truth. I have no time for your highschool games. I left school a long time ago. Remember? I had to handle the problem for both of us. Just keep seeing how we've all done you wrong. You will be the only one to remember it. We've all had to grow up and move on. Scary when you are there by yourself.
