just another one of my poems about how people try too cover up =)
We wear the dolled up hair.
And the makeup covered face.
We wear the sparkly dress
and glass slippers.
Then the clock strikes twelve.
And we run away.
We don't want to show who we really are.
We don't think about leaving the house, without looking in the mirror
Making sure we look like who people want to see
Because without the makeup, shoes, and hair, we think there's nothing left
We feel like what we look like is who we are.

Why can't we show our true colors.
An enlightening personality can just as much light up a room as a million dollar dress
We were given personalities, so we could share them proudly,
as we broadcast who we are
by words and actions.

So stay past midnight
Let the magic float away
Because in your rags, and dirty old shoes
I am able to see the true you.
The you thats more beautiful then your glass slippers
And more vibrant then your dress.
I am able to see the truest you,
that anyone could see
All because you didn't run away
when the clock chimed twelve.
