it's kind of about my dad. how he could never understand me.
Wait by the stairs, he says.
I close my eyes and obey.
There's nothing else left to do.
But stay here and pine for you.

The sunshine invades my space.
It leaves me feeling the opposite of warm.
I want some kind of uplifting for my soul.
But instead my eyes turn to black and my heart to coal.

There's never a reason for violence
Only the letting of unshed blood.
But there's always a reason for uncried tears.
Always a reason for unsaid fears.

So I wait and wait till I can't anymore.
Because my legs refuse to hold my tired body up.
So there he finds me, lying on the ground
Heavy-hearted and beaten down.
