running, wasting
I convinced the world I had a clue,
So I got for free a quick way through,
After a while the sky started to fade,
So I'm running on to somewhere new.
Where small flowers bloom mile after mile,
and the girls are friendly and always smile,
For my anger and frustration will no more be riled,
I'm leaving the past behind for the vultures.

When I arrived this dusty town had a brighter hue,
The bars and cars glistened and I was free to choose
From new face to face as they all smiled back,
And so I'm running on to somewhere new.
Every person I could call a friend,
And everyone I hope to see again,
Have taught me much, not tied my hands,
But I'm leaving the past behind for the vultures.

From my heart I've no more fat to chew,
Wasted time spent stuck in a queue,
Missing the stars as they fell nearby,
So I'm running on to somewhere new.
Beauty and shame often run in paralell,
One always appears just where the other fell,
But with eyes close I will never tell,
So I'm leaving the past behind for the vultures.

Stuck in a hole a man has to move,
For fear of death must be constantly soothed,
I'm worried so bad that I leave too much,
Still I'm running on to somewhere new.
A place I can redefine my memory,
and stare at the clouds and the sand and the sea,
looking on and away while my heart bleeds,
I'm leaving my heart behind for the vultures.
