My beloved dog deserved to be remembered.
Harold "Harry" Johnson, 105, of Media, PA, a longtime family member and pet of Tanika Johnson and the Williams family, died January 28th at the Delaware County SPCA due to complications of old age.
Born in Media, a Poodle/ Lab mix, he was adopted at ten weeks old. In his early days he liked to eat everything, his vet, Dr. Menghetti, playfully called him "The Goat". He was a funny pup who liked to steal things, from tuna sandwiches to cigarette butts. One incredible highlight was when he systematically chewed one shoe in each pair on Tanika's shoe rack.
When Harry was only two the family moved to Woodlyn, where he met his wife Biz, deceased, another Poodle/Lab mix. They quickly had one litter of pups, all boys, his exact replicas. They, being of his gentle temperament, were quickly adopted. Shortly after they had another litter of pups, a set of four, each were adopted except one, who still resides with the family. He was a great father, playing games and running with his children.
He loved eating ice, popcorn and ice-cream. Harry's 12 years in Woodlyn were spent catching flies in the summer, and enjoying the snow in the winter. Just last year Harry and the family moved back to Media, where he spent his last year, enjoying the shade and security of his fenced in yard and the love and embrace of his family.
Survivors: daughter, Muffin of Media, and seven sons of various Delaware County locations, owner, Tanika, family, Melva, Dolores, James, Rae, and Sorai.
