finding clarity of self in silence
This silence is deafening.

I listen intently for guidance coming from myself and my god;

My thoughts click loudly in my head

heading every possible direction-

And then back to their central location.

I'm almost certain the neighbors can hear me.

The fridge hums away at the night

proving there is food to be eaten that I do not want.

I can hear the whisper of the trees

and the wind slowly shakes off the

gathering dew.

I can hear myself grow as a person internally.

Not externally, remember the fridge I ignore.

And with each breath in and out

I trust that my soul becomes cleaner than before.

Yes, this silence is deafening.

And yet it brings with it clarity; my strongest desire.

I can hear my deepest wishes and my strongest fears.

In silence I can let go of every last one

and hope only the best comes back to me.
