Twinges in My Hinges

I’ve got twinges in my hinges
What’s that? I hear you say
I‘ve got twinges in my hinges
And they will not go away
I don’t know when I got them
weren’t there when I was young
Excuse me as I move a bit
I think my back is sprung
Oh I remember clearly
When I was very small
I had my life before me
And had no pains at all
But as the years flew swiftly by
Some twinges came my way
They really weren’t that bad you know,
I still could laugh and play
And here I am now wondering
what’s wrong you, poor, poor body
My creaky knees and failing eyes
are making me feel shoddy
My feet now swell, my elbow hurts
what’s happening to me?
I still feel like the little kid
who used to climb a tree
Doctors, doctors, doctors
are the ones that I see most
I’m spending so much time with them
I’m feeling so morose
When I stand and walk around
my hinges creak and pop
At night my restful sleep does flee
when on the bed I flop
My house is like a pharmacy
Prescriptions by the score
If one more thing goes out on me
I think I’ll hit the floor
But one good thing that’s happening,
At least my mind is clear
I guess I have a few more years
before it disappears
I guess it’s just a part of life
That sometimes makes me sad
But all in all my life is great
It’s really not so bad
