"Can someone explain that stage-diving thing?!" Candy exclaimed, a tear threatening to escape her left eye.

Joe shook his head slightly, "They're just moved by the music. It's perfectly normal."

"We play folk music, for chrissakes!" Candy snapped, the tear ducts finally betraying her.

"I know," Joe sighed, and wondered why the audience suddenly began moshing to If I Had A Hammer.

In a corner of the dressing room, Lucius snickered, knowing full well what caused the mayhem at last night's show. A month ago, before joining the band, he unraveled the mystery of the Cursed Fiddler's Notes. That high G flat minor sure has an impact! he mused.

Last week, he used an augmented C to cause the women in the audience to suddenly begin screaming hysterically, while pummeling their male companions. At the show prior to that, he used an F sharp major to send audience members to senselessly run toward the nearest wall and crash violently into them. It took hours for paramedics to tend to the injured.

A knock on the door gave them all a momentary start. The stage manager stuck her head in and smiled. "You guys are on in five. Good luck!"

The stage manager shut the door, and Candy swiveled her chair to face the mirror. She wiped the tears off her face, and began re-applying make-up. In the reflection, she noticed Lucius grinning in his corner, and a slow anger bubbled inside her. "What's so funny?!"

Candy's anger increased as Lucius simply continued smiling. She got off of her chair and stormed in Lucius's direction. "All of this started happening after you joined our band!"

Joe bolted from his seat, and grabbed Lucy by both arms, stopping her within a few feet from Lucius. "Calm down, Candy! It isn't Lucius's fault, and you know it! You're just talking crazy!"

"Am I?" Candy asked, eyes darting from Lucius to Joe and back. "Why was it that this guy just happened to be in the audience, also played the fiddle, and knew how to play all our songs, on the night that Parker had that sudden stroke?!"

"I've told you before," Lucius interjected. "I was always a fan."

"Bullshit!" Candy yelled.

"Enough!" Joe shouted, and ushered Candy out of the dressing room. A few seconds later, Lucius got up from his perch, and walked out the door, heading toward the stage. A sinister smile formed on his lips as he relished the thought of hitting that E with a diminished seventh, during their second set. Oh, the beauty of people eating flesh! He reminded himself to look shocked when the moment occured. The last thing he wanted was for his band mates to see him smiling at the bloody aftermath.

He hoped that at least one of the audience members would jump onto the stage and attack Candy. He wanted to have a great view as blood spewed from her lifeless body. Mostly, he wanted to hear her scream.
