An endless void where one's soul can be consumed
The darkness and emptiness of the tunnel consumes
Dragging one downward into its vast chambers
Seemingly no doorway is to be found
Contentment cannot be found
The tunnel consumes one’s soul if permitted
No dazzling ray of light can be seen here
No enjoyment in life can be tasted in this dark place
Laughter is not known in the vast emptiness
The tunnel is a place where one seeks escape
Desire is stripped as easily as one’s clothing is
The heart is devoured in its blackness
Yet faith in the light prompts one onward
The tunnel is an obstacle not easily fought
Derives pleasure, immense pleasure, in its consumption
From beyond light can be seen
The battle to obtain it drives one onward again
The tunnel attempts to close one in
Yet the struggle to find light is felt within
Sheer determination and will help conquer the darkness
The tunnel’s battle is lost, the light is now found
