The dark night, so calm, so peaceful, but the light of the moon shining on all the trees and plants, making the night look magical. In this beautiful garden behind the hotel, many people come to this place to take in some fresh air after a night of dancing. But at this time, only a boy and a girl are here, talking as the walk out onto the terrace in the middle of the garden.
"Mike” the girl said “there's something different about you. I can’t put my finger on it" the girl continued. This girl was about 5’9” with blond hair and blue eyes. She was dressed in a long flowing black cocktail dress with her hair flowing down to her back, matching her dress. She wore black high heals and had a nice friendly smile on her face.
"Well, maybe it's my dazzling personality or my charm." the guy said. The guy was around 6’1” with brown hair and blue eyes. The guy was dressed in a black suit which as tight on his waist and stomach. He wore a white shirt and a black bowtie.
"No, I think it's your cockiness." the girl replied, letting her hair sway behind her and making herself look provocative.
"Oh, I'll turn that down for you if you want Amanda." The guy said, with a friendly grin on his face.
"No, I don’t want you to. I like you just the way you are. Please don't change. I care for you." Amanda said, looking at the floor, hair covering her face. The wind blew and her hair started to move.
"I won't, I'll keep you in my best interests." The guy said, lifting her chin and looking into her eyes. Amanda sighed and looked at the floor again. She walked towards the edge of the terrace.
"You don't have to keep lying to me Mike" she said as she looked out into the dark garden lit up by the moonlight
"What do you mean?" Mike replied as he looked at her back
"I know what you are."
Mike looked at her, shocked, not knowing what to say.
"And I can tell you're leaving soon. I wish you couldn't go. But you have to, don’t you?"
Mike stood, looking at her with a disappointed look on his face.
"I thought so, well if you can’t stay, I'm coming with you.”
“What!” Mike exclaimed
“I'm packed and ready to go when you do. I don't care what you say, I want to join you, help you in everyway I can"
“There’s only one way to do that…and I don’t think I could do that to you…”
“I know the risks and what I have to do, I talked to your friend, and He explained everything. I know the things I could face, but if I’m by your side, then I’ll face them”
Then there was a long silence, awkward silence. Before Mike could say anything more, something dived out of the bushes. Mike jumped into action. First thing he did was protect himself, rolling for cover behind a bench but when he saw the direction the thing was heading for, Mike froze. Mike was now looking at a man the thing had turned into as he held his hands to the neck of Amanda. This man was dressed in dark jeans, a dark t-shirt and lots of holsters for different weapons, and a sick grin to match.
"Not one step or girly dies."
Mike looked at the man, and then Amanda. Amanda had panic in her eyes, in a small moment of calm; Amanda mouthed the words 'help me'.
Then Mike snapped, Pain ran through his body as he felt his body change, not to protect himself but to protect the person who needed him most. Amanda. When the pain subsided, he looked at Amanda; she now looked at him in a new light, amazed with the beast before her, paying no attention to the man who had his hands around her neck. He then looked at the man with the grin on his face. Mike then said
"Let...Her...Go..." in his new, very deep voice
"this could be interesting." the man said as he threw Amanda to one side and pulled out a crossbow. Mike moved to try and catch Amanda but when he heard a click, he froze once again. Amanda hit the terrace hard and gave out a scream of pain.
"I'll put you out of your misery very soon, my dear, don’t worry" he said with a sick grin on his face.
“But not yet, you have to watch the person you most care about be killed, say goodbye” Then he fired the crossbow.
