...for Lori, who makes my mornings complete...
take a seat at the counter
or maybe a cozy booth
what can i get for you?

hot coffee brewing
fresh-baked pies
what is it that you hunger for?

friday dinner specials
breakfast served anytime
                   what'll it be this evening?

the regulars
those first-timers
                   how're you doing today?

smoke-free environment
always affordable
would you have it any other way?

dim lighting
oldies music playing
could there be anything more relaxing?

smiling faces
favorite waitress
just a few things that keep me coming back!

Author's Note: I wrote this in about three mintues for the waitress who always cheers me up in the morning and who sits and asks me how I am. She always makes me smile, so I decided to try and return the favor by writing and leaving her this poem. I realize it could have been a lot better, but it just came right out this way.
