About loss and the innocence of not understanding a situation.
She said that she was broken,
Broken into two.
She said I couldn’t help her,
That she was lost through and through.
I told her I would find her;
Repair her broken halves.
But her eyes got dark and hollow,
Like she was angry at the past.
I tried so hard to help her,
And though I did some good,
She still said she was broken;
Broken into two.
I was cold and I was frightened,
I was sad and I was weak.
How could she be so hopeless?
How can I get to sleep?
Then she got so hazy,
She said that she would leave.
Her eyes got sick and crazy,
Her halves I’d not retrieved.
But then how could she leave me?
I am her only son!
Broken or completed,
She is not the one to run.

And now she is gone,
She took my laughter too.
And she leaves me broken;
Broken into two.
