"love" poem; not different but not the same of course

out walking under the giants.
singing in soul, silently wondering.
the lights are just coming on but
it is still light. the street--
there are people, all kinds
of people on the street.
my throat is dry so i enter
a bar. stale beer stale drunks--
everyone and their several
shot glasses their half-full amber
glasses in front of them. i order scotch.
the burn is good at night.
especially this still seeing night.
another. warming. leave
a five. as i turn to
leave glittering eyes beckon
like purple leaves--blue eyes.
there is a smile between us,
myself and blue eyes. blue eyes
remind me of infinitely calm
sea beneath yellow sun.
this i tell her and she leans in
to hear--take her hand
and lead her out.
