When i thought i lost my brother but instead lost something else
On a cold winters night my parents leave me to care for my brother while they go to catch a flick. My brother is six and I am 13 so we have quite a bit difference in age, and we are the exact opposites of each other, I’m quiet and reserved while my brother on the other hand he is quite wild. Oh how I can’t stand him, yet if he were to leave. I would be broken like a fallen mirror. The weather is quite vicious outside; I hope my parents can make it to their movie of love and gross smooching. That is suddenly driven out of my mind by the thought of my brother, where is he anyway? I don’t hear his wild voice. Butterflies appear in my stomach as I cannot find my sibling. Something also appears not in my stomach but in my head, questions. Should I call my parents, or go look for him? My brain is filled with fear as I make my decision. I decide to find him, and then call my parents. I looked everywhere still no sign of my brother. I feel like giving up, but I hear a noise, oh how I have longed for a noise in such silence. I go downstairs and I see my brother sitting on the couch watching his favorite show. I ask him where he was, and he said he was sitting right here as he watched me panic in search of him. I say no you were gone I couldn’t find you. He sits there confused, as I am. I don’t know what just happened there. Was I seeing something or were we playing a game of hide and go seek? My brother says no, and that we were watching TV, and as he says I freaked out. I never really figured out what happened and I never talked about it again, but I still wonder was it a trick of light (that would have to be a pretty big light) or was I going insane as people put it
