In the company of friends who all cared yet I focused my thoughts on one who did not.
As sunset passes to allow a different beauty
Warmth of the day to the breeze of the night

A gentle wind caresses my long dark hair
And a life worth living comes to light

As the open sea meets the sandy beach
My soul shatters and I look to the skies

I attend to friends searching for wood
Their gentle faces seen by dark brown eyes

As shadows flicker and the mind wanders far
The heart burns and aches with desire

My feet leave footprints in the sand
To my companions closely cuddled by fire

As I sit by an angel, I lean on a friend
One I still have and not one truly lost

That I lost... As I lean on...
I sigh, look ahead and calm subsides

On the throes of torture that consumes
Submissive adoration turned to dust
of ourselves, others and of her
In my very inner being I lose trust

My cry, my screams to someone now far
To those who give heed, you who now hears
Take who you trust, love and adore
True to him or her no matter the fears

I understand I have truly lost her
And yet through the pain I still can see
Choose to be disliked for who you are
Than be liked for who you may not be
