One evening I had to empty the mailbox and it was dark already...
Like a thick and dark veil coating the world
A moonless night took me into its arms;
Leaves rustling in wind
Made shivers run down my spine
As I stood alone under the stars.
Balmy air carrying the scent of impending fall
Momentarily warmed my aching heart
Alone I was
Free as the wind
Free – like a wild horse on the run
Its coat glistening in the silver light of stars
Wild I was
Scared of the world
Scared - like a prey.
A whispering breeze
Slowed down my racing heart,
The madness of the moment fleeting away
Like clouds invading the sky.
