This is an essay that I wrote out of frustration from not being able to express emotion.
Self-Control
Confusion, fear, and complete frustration. When we have things to say but cannot say them, or even worse, emotions to express but we cannot express them, the need for self-control is so great, but the accompanying desire to let go of that self control and quickly express all that we have been wanting to for so long. Oh my goodness it is horrible!! I am not positive about this but I am pretty sure that these sorts of emotions, or rather emotions in general, aren’t meant to be kept inside, a person is not built with the ability to bottle all of those feelings up. This unfortunately means that eventually the self-control is going to ware off and the words and feelings are bound to come out in one way or another. So if all of this is true then what is the proper way to handle one’s emotions when it is not yet time for the world to see them and share in them with you?

Well if the words and emotions need to be expressed but the person to whom they desire to be expressed may not hear them, then the solution may be revealing them to one who can hear them. An obvious person that willingly offers Himself as a solution to this problem is our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He has given us the right and the privilege of being able to come to Him with everything and anything that we need to. Not only does he offer such a comforting solution, but He understands us to the utmost, down to the very core, why, how, and what we do every minute of every day, even before we do. He knows us better than we know ourselves, and isn’t that what we’ve always wanted? Someone that will always be there for us and who will listen selflessly and then offer the perfect answers and solutions to our problems? However there is a catch, being the prefect being that He is and understanding us to the very core of our being, He knows what is best. He knows when the time is exactly right for our emotions to be revealed, the right time and way for every detail of our lives to occur. So we have to wait on His timing, and listen to His answer to our questions.

I can honestly not think of another solution to the problem of having emotions and words to express that may not yet be expressed. God is the answer. I would say the sooner we realize that the better off we will be, but in actuality, the sooner we live like we have realized that the better off we will be, because until we live like that we do not truly believe it.
