Standing by the ocean can be a total experince. Written for a contest.
The Ocean Wave
by Terry Burres

The ocean wave
reached it’s crescendo
as it climbed
the rocky shore,
diamond droplets
studded the air
in the aftermath.

Ocean jewels fell
onto my upturned
face in a gentle brush.
My tongue found
a salty kiss left by the wave
tasting as fresh as it smelled.

I stood waiting
for the next wave
in greedy anticipation.
