in comparison with both Taiwanese and Canadian senior high school students' pressure
who are the lucky guys?---in comparision with both Taiwanese and Canadian senior hig school students' pressure

There is a saying, ”Once you are breathing you have pressure.” So, there are a lot of suggestions for relieving various pressures recommended by magazines, books, voice medias, personal speeches… etc. That is to say, the appearance of overloading pressure on modern people has attracted experts’ attention.
Although people’s pressures would come from diversifying dimensions, still there are some hints to clue us to the main source of it. Students in Taiwan, for example, their main pressure comes from their pursuing good academic performance, because the people around them believe that good scores in tests are the crucial purpose of students. No matter which school or grade he/she is.
In Taiwan, from pre-schools to graduate schools, for students to earn good scores in tests has become a common value. Students have to devote all their energy on it since the competition is fiercer year by year. This situation leads to cram schools booming around this island. Although the burdens are heavier than they can shoulder, still the same pressure is increasingly added on them.
According to Kennedy’s depiction in the article, there are a variety of pressures on Canadian students to shoulder besides academic study. In comparison to Taiwanese students, their situations are more complicated and hard to stomach. It seems, to the author, that Taiwanese students’ pressure source is too pure to allure adults’ attention.
In my opinion, all pressure is the same; it’s nothing about how many it is but its total amount. As far as pressure is concerned; we can only afford a certain amount of pressure. Once it is over what we can endure we would be driven crazy. No wonder they are so many patients flocking into the neurology departments of hospitals to ask for easing pressure.
A multi-pressure source has the function of balancing the burdens of our physical body and psyche, since they will mutually neutralize increased stress. On the opposite way, a mono-pressure source not just lacks of the balance function but also will be added more strain on it by the boring single source. Academic score is the best example; while the competition becomes fiercer and fiercer due to so many people devoting their full energy on it. For instance, the famous schools entrance tests become narrower than ever.
Taiwanese senior high school students, for example, they should be energetic on academic affairs with all their effort. They would not be allowed to take a try in any other fields even if only a few of them have the potential talent. Imagine that all the people flock through a narrow gate, the pressure would not be hard to understand.
Escaping from routine work, in theory, will recreate energy and refresh people’s lives. Multi-style experience will make their lives more colorful although there would be some pressures coming up with it. But people will benefit from it indeed. Because diversified experiences will not just enrich people’s lives but also empower their ability on their works.
Part time jobs for senior high school students will provide the same function as recreation because they will be apart from their academic affair for a while and it’s good to their health physically and mentally. Also it will leave the students opportunities to accumulate their experience and strengthen their abilities for future jobs. In this case, we shouldn’t strain on pushing the students to study all day long, should we? That will result in a bad situation if we insist on it.
Lifelong learning theory is based on the knowledge bursting trend. People should expand their learning to all their lives. Academic study is just part of the increasing knowledge which should be learned in this world. There are still a lot of things waiting for people to experience, so encourage senior high school students to take part time jobs is a good idea, because they will be able to collect their experiences from it. Since life is omni-bearing, there are a lot of experiences for them to taste, so they shouldn’t spend all their energy and time in schools or they will miss the important part of their life.
Allow senior high school students to take part time jobs after school hour is a good way for them to enrich their experiences. Yet there is one thing we shall pay attention to is keeping them in a security situation since they are just students.
Establish good institutions for students to work on part time jobs will do some help to their academic study, because practical experience will prove what they have learned in classes. Integrate both sides, in concept, will do a lot of help in their growing. A good institution will also prevent them from being exploited by corporate.
All in all, Taiwanese senior high school students not just suffer the pressure from academic learning but also the boredom of its single pressure source. In comparison with Canadian’s, we will admire the students from Canada for their colorful lives and their skillful abilities from a variety part time jobs. These experiences will do a lot of help to their future jobs. Besides, a part time job is the beginning of a full time job, because the earlier you engage in the work place the more tactful skills you will learn. And all these skills will be functional in your career life.
