Cat and Dog's Birthday Cards

You have just been hired by a major greeting card company to write birthday poems for a new line of canine/feline birthday cards (cards you give to your dogs and/or cats for their birthdays).

READ CAREFULLY: For today's prompt you should write TWO (2) POEMS - one for a cat's birthday, and one for a dog's birthday - that will appear on your first pet birthday cards. They can be silly or sweet, funny or serious - each should be at least 10 lines but no more than 20 lines. I once was alone,
Without any pets.
My house was so lonely,
It needed a cat.

I checked the pet stores,
The prices absurd.
So home I was driving,
Then looked at one curb.

There you were sitting,
Alone and shivering.
I picked you up slowly,
My heart began quivering.

I knew right away,
You were the one for me.
So I took you home,
You were as cute as could be.

You've been with me now,
For about one year.
So Happy First Birthday,
My sweet little dear.

A tiny, loving dog.

You were tiny and dirty,
But you pounced on my feet.
So I bathed you at home,
And you looked so sweet.

You have grown so much,
In one short year.
My love for you growing,
So much for you dear.

You large ball of fluff.
And I want to tell you,
