My sequel to Good Night Moon for my daughter
As the morning sun came through
the open shade
the shadows did flee
and the darkness did fade
and the little girl
with the pretty blonde hair
opened her eyes
to see what’s out there
There was Elmer Fudd and Bugs Bunny
and Winnie the Pooh
and his jar of honey
There were two teddy bears
and a clock and a chair
and a closet full of dresses
for the little girl to wear.
There was baby Annie
who had wished her goodnight
and now woke her up
with the morning sunlight
and the radio played
a favorite tune
and mommy and daddy
came into her room.
Good morning sunshine.
Good morning little girl
with the pretty blonde hair.
Good morning Elmer and Bugs Bunny.
Good morning Pooh bear
and your jar full of honey.
Good morning teddy bears
and the clock and chair
Good morning dresses
Oh, which one to wear?
Good morning baby Annie
did you sleep well?
Good morning radio
singing Farmer in the Dell.
Good morning mommy and daddy
what shall we do today?
Let’s run and jump and swing and dance
and them we’ll really play!
