Wither or blossom?
Like A Flower

When songs of love become lament,
When heart's desire is all but spent,
When what I say is not my intent,
Like a flower, I'll wither and die.

When children do not want to play,
When birds take wing and fly away,
When shadows reign in light of day,
Like a flower, I'll wither and die.

When smiles no longer adorn my face,
When there's no one I can embrace,
When there's no hope for the human race,
Like a flower, I'll wither and die.

But, say you loved me from the start,
Say you'll keep me in your heart,
Say your love will not depart,
Like a flower, I'll blossom and grow.
