Six kids in one house..someones gonna die.. : /
Audition days are always the worst at River Dale College. Everyone is so obsessed with getting a part in the play because most people are obsessed with the lime light and all the stupid attention they get. I always audition and usually make the shows, however I'm not as big of a star as most people give themselves credit for. Being a sophomore in college, I was happy to be apart of the shows unlike some people like Gina Hoop. She’d been the star in all her high school productions and continued it in college. She expected roles and I wanted to change that.

I sat in the audition room watching Gina belittle everyone trying out with her nasty stares and her cocky attitude. Just as she laid her eyes on me, my best friend Jaxson Davis came over to me. He’s goofy tall and lanky with the flaming red hair but a smile to die for. I’d known him since I was really little and have liked him since we were really little except he was oblivious.
“Are you nervous?” Jaxson asked, his voice a little shaky from being nervous himself.
Nah, I just really want to get it over with, you know? Whatever happens happens. I replied
Wow, I wish I had your confidence.”
I laughed at that comment but before I could say anything my name was called to go audition. He smiled and wished me good luck. I was greeted with a warm smile by the director Mr. Rank. After I did my monologue, surprisingly enough he started applauding me saying it’s the best monologue he’s seen in a long time. I left very happy with how everything went. Needless to say, I made call backs and was up for the lead role, just as Gina. She was nice about it but I could sense the fear she had because she knew she had competition. After call backs that day, Jaxson and I watched the drama unfold in the parking lot as Emily James and Bobby Reynolds broke up along with Gina and her boyfriend Liam Nelson who had a sneaking suspicion of her wandering eye for Ryan Crape who was sneaking behind Gina's back and seeing Sarah Casey.

There were ten roles that were cast, among them were Ryan, Sarah, Bobby, Liam, Emily, Gina, Jaxson, and two people who were the sweetest most wholesome people, Chleo Kimberlin and Eddie Barr who had been going out since they were freshman in highschool. Gina had gotten her lead role but I had an equally good part and was satisfied. Liam was opposite Gina and we all knew hell was going to break loose. I knew Mr. Rank would be displeased with everyone because no one really knew how to keep their personal lives out of the rehearsals.

During rehearsals, Mr. Rank attempted to have everyone read lines. It was the biggest disaster that ended in everyone screaming at each other. Mr. Rank yelled over us to get our attention and he was really mad. He lectured us about being college students and acting civilized because we were older and should know how to act professionally. When he was done, he walked out of the theatre with the notion that we had to figure out our own problems. We all stood around awkwardly when Jaxson spoke up with an idea.

“Hey, you know, I have a beach house that hasn’t been used in years. Maybe we should all go, you know, take a weekend and just cool off, spend time and talk to each other a get back to where we used to be before all this relationship drama and jealousy got in the way. It could be fun.”

Every one looked at each other and sort of pondered the idea and then I said.
“I’m in,” even though I knew it could be a recipe for disaster.
Yeah, me too, said Liam along with Chleo and Eddie.
Ryan was very against the idea but Sarah and Gina convinced him to come. Bobby and Emily eventually agreed to coming after realizing a weekend away would be a good idea to let off some steam.

“Okay, I think a good way for this to work is to not use cell phones or anything so our concentration is on each other and ourselves, I mean what is a vacation if we’re all on our cell phones?”

After some arguing about the cell phone deal, we all agreed to take them for emergency but to keep them off. I was happy we all agreed to do something about the dumb problems we were going through and so did everyone else. We all knew Jaxson was loaded so we’d have a really great weekend away and hopefully solve some of the drama.

The house was about 20 minutes away from town. The place was huge and beautiful but the beach was terrible. It was full of pollution and it smelt really bad outside. The inside of the house however, made up for the terrible looks and the smell outside. There were 8 rooms in the house which all had beds including bunk beds in one room for when Jaxson and his little brother would come to the house. Jaxson and I called that room and Eddie and Chleo took the a room together so the other six people took their own rooms.

After everyone got situated, Jaxson took everyone’s cell phone knowing how bad Gina and Sarah were with ignoring everything going on because of the stupid phone. He put them on the kitchen table and we all sat down in the living room. Again, we all stared at each other awkwardly not knowing where to start to solve our problems. For five minutes we sat there. It felt like a year. Finally Bobby said:

"Wow Jaxson, you're a real thinker, what now?"

Annoyed I replied, "Shut up Bobby. You're not saying anything either, why does Jaxson have to do everything?"

Insulted Emily exclaimed, "Don't tell Bobby to shut up!"

Guys! Cut the bull! Jeez! Look, maybe we should just hang around and if anyone has something to say we could address it, but I think we should just calm down for now. Maybe we’ll figure something out that we can discuss tomorrow. said Jaxson

“Well, can we have our cells back then?” asked Gina

Jaxson replied. “I don’t think so.”

She rolled her eyes at him and walked into her room and everyone followed behind her. As Ryan went to his room, Sarah followed.

“Wow, so this is sort of a disaster, Jaxson said to me.

Yeah, but I think something might get solved by Monday morning when we leave. I said with skepticism in my voice.

Jaxson smiled. I sure hope so.”

Just after he said that, we heard a door open and Gina come out and enter Ryan’s room. Jaxson and I looked at each other. We knew something really bad was going to happen. In the next couple of minutes there was screaming back and forth between Sarah and Gina. We all ran into the bedroom and the girls were trying to rip each others hair out. Ryan was standing in the corner disheveled and nervous. Liam darted in and pulled Gina away from Sarah and Jaxson pulled Sarah away.

“What the hell just happened?” exclaimed Liam.

Sarah smirked a little. “You want to know what your girlfriends been doing behind your back? Having an affair with Crape!”

I’d never seen Gina look so ashamed and sad, nor had I ever seen Liam look like he did. I really thought they hated eachother and since they were broken up I didn't think it would make a difference anymore but the look on both their faces told a completely different story.

“Is that true?” asked Liam almost like he was out of breath.

Gina answered painfully. “Yes, it is. I’m sorry.

Liam darted out of the room as fast as he entered and Jaxson and Chleo followed after him.

“I think we should leave.” Gina said solomly.

I told her we couldn’t because it was too dark to know where we were going. Then she walked to her room and slammed the door. Sarah gave Ryan the dirtiest look and walked out, not before knocking me out of the way. Ryan looked like he was going to cry, but I couldn’t have been bothered by such a creep and I guess Eddie couldn’t either because he followed me out. Outside the room, Bobby and Emily were making out on the couch, oblivious to everything.

“This is ridiculous, I mean we’re not going to be able to go on with this play at this rate,”said Eddie angrily.

We walked outside where Chleo, Jaxson and Liam were. Liam was practically in tears and muttering under his breath about how he wanted to kill them both. Then he looked at all of us standing around him and asked us to leave. We all went back inside. Eddie, Chleo, Jaxson and I went into the game room and talked over how ridiculous things were and how Mr. Rank should know what’s going on. At around one thirty, we went to our rooms.

When we entered our room, Jaxson and I started laughing. Everything was ridiculous and we had nothing to do with it.
"Maybe we just can't fix it. They probably just have really bad karma and it caught up to them." I said laughing.
Jaxson laughed too, but faintly and got a more serious look on his face. He moved closer to me and kissed my lips gently. I was grinning from ear to ear and so was he. Before I could say anything, he spoke.
"Maybe with all the bad, something good will come out of this."
"We're not out of the woods yet." I said still smiling.

When I said that, I didn't realize how true that statement was. I slept like a baby that night, but when I woke up in the morning tension was a lot higher. Sarah would stare Ryan down and Emily and Bobby broke up again. Liam and Gina didn't leave their rooms all morning.
