A poem about a girl it never worked out with
It’s been so long since
as one to bed we laid.
Why am I tormented so with
these thoughts of what once was?
What’s come and gone,
too late, too long. For no
amends shall make
the mockery unmade.

It calls from deep inside
me, dying for you to know
the truth of my soul.
You can’t hear. No, you’ve
already heard. We don’t share
the same dream. You won’t
go back. I can’t stop you.
Pain.

Just when we start to grow a
little closer, and begin
to creep back out from the
heavy drapes of awkwardness,
I find you bursting off to
run the other way. I thought
that time would surely mend
the bends along our road.

Guaranteed is this, that things
will never be like those days
once were. Still too close to you I
feel, to see you with another.
As for me, its clear to see you’re only
wanting sunder, I know you simply
fancy just to be free, but all I ever wanted
was for you to have a place for me.
