This is the start of a story I have been meaning to write for awhile now.
Chapter

Alex stood on the bridge that night, the icy cold rain was falling in sheets; it felt soothing on his hot skin. The rain soaked through his powder blue tuxedo and chilled him to the bone, but his blood still felt like it was boiling in his veins. The rain hid the salty tears that were streaming down his face. He had to take off his black thick framed glasses and put them in his front pocket.
Cars drove past him splashing him with more water, he just stood there looking down at the black; fast moving river. He saw the headlights from a oncoming car. It pulled over next to him and bathed him in pule blue light. She got out on the car and opened her bright green umbrella and walked over next to him. She did not say anything just stared at the river with him, trying to keep the rain off both of them.

“Are you going to ask me how I feel?” He said still staring down at the river.

“Nope, I’m pretty sure I know how you feel. Come on, I’ll take you someplace dry and warm.”

“I do not want to go anywhere, I just want to stay here and...”

“...And think, right? You can do that someplace where you won’t catch cold you know. Fine. You want to make yourself sick, go ahead, but I’m going to stay with you even if I get soaked too.”

He took his glasses out of his pocket and put them on after wiping them on the front of his shirt. He look over at her she was still wearing the black dress, the black carnation pinned to the front was dripping wet. Her dark brown wavy hair was still piled high on her head even though it had gotten very wet, leaving streaks in the blush on her cheeks. She looked up at him her big brown eyes were bloodshot. He saw her shiver but he knew she would not leave until he did.

He sighs rens his fingers through his jet black hair and says “O.k. I will leave but I do not want to go home.”

“O.k. I know somewhere we can go.” She says while taking his hand and leading him to her car.
