A Painful Journey

Cracked windows
Shatter
Under the pressure of
Love fading.

Bitter tears
Wash away
Fond memories

Screams
Replace whispers of
Sweet nothings.

Fists replace
Screams
The prisoner is brought
to the hospital

One good moment forces
The prisoner to
return

A child is threatened
The prisoner finds
The strength to flee

She is finally Free!
