This is a relatively short poem inspired by a very condescending date.
IGNORAMUS

The thick-headed
insensate man
pushes his luck,
trying ceaselessly
to make a point.
Foolishly pressing
his dull wit
against the sharp edge
of real intelligence,
wanting more
than anything else
to be bigger
than what he is,
never knowing he
has only succeeded
in making an ass of himself.
Deaf to criticism
and incapable of
listening to any opinion
but his own, he
ends up a pariah
who speaks constantly
but is never heard.
