A short peom, written over my long weekend
Setting up my hazard signs
Blinking light and painted lines
This lie called in sick again
These tears and silent night fill in
Tonight is endless but comes to a close
This isn't a phase, but nobody knows
Has anyone seen my getaway car?
Temptress, who am I fighting for?
Good intentions called on account of rain
I wonder if you mean to cause me this pain
I'll drive home careless, hands in the air
Thinking and hoping that no one will care
Ask me where I've lost my youth
Sudden maturity swears me to truth
Promise that you'll call me your friend
Let me fight for the chance to be lied to again
Should we stand together or stand alone?
Either way, I'm on my own
